Our neighborhood bookstore, Powerhouse Arena, suffered severe damages from the storm last month. The space was flooded, destroying much of the inventory and furnishings, and Powerhouse estimates that its losses were in the tens of thousands of dollars.
To support its recovery, Powerhouse is throwing a great-looking fundraiser from 12 to 9 PM on Saturday, Nov. 17, with readings from Jennifer Egan, Jonathan Franzen, and many more and a bar from 6 to 9 PM.
