To see an annotated, illustrated table of contents, please visit their website.

The issue will include four full-color portfolios made especially for the journal by Matthew Brannon, Munro Galloway, Leslie Hewitt, and Jessie LeBaron; and writing about contemporary art by Timothy Aubry, James Bae, Naomi Fry, Sarah Hromack, Christopher Hsu, Claire Jarvis, Jason Murison, Lauren O’Neill-Butler, Dushko Petrovich, Jessica Slaven, and Roger White.

Paper Monument Number Three opens with an anecdotal history of the art world’s troubled times, before exploring the new etiquette of museums and gallery guestbooks. It takes the reader through the broken refrigerator of recent sculpture, behind MTV’s Hills, and deep into Britain’s contemporary art empire. It includes reflections on Matt Mullican’s inimitable lecturing style, Dana Hoey’s upstate studio, and Corinna Schnitt’s cinema of placelessness. With an eye toward the future, the issue looks back on art booms and busts in Beijing and New York.

Paper Monument is a Brooklyn-based journal of contemporary art published in association with n+1 and designed by Project Projects. Issues and subscriptions are available here. The newsstand price is $12.
